Transient studies and TRV/RRRV Analysis – QLD
Overview
C5 was awarded the role of lead transient and power system engineers for the development of Western Downs Green Power Hub Terminal Substation in QLD.
The Problem
Our client engaged C5 to undertake Transient and TRV/RRRV analysis using insulation coordination techniques for the proposed new Western Downs Terminal Substation as part of the new solar farm development. To meet compliance with the stringent criteria of IEC 60071, AS 1824 and client specific standards; C5 used our expertise in this field of engineering to develop detailed Frequency dependent modelling to validate the electrical primary design. A number of service providers were engaged for varying portions of the scope and design inputs, which C5 facilitated net positive outcomes to meet the project delivery.
Get in TouchThe Solution
C5 was able to offer our expertise in detailed insulation coordination design for the proposed new Terminal Substation which included services such as:
- End to End project management between all stakeholders – consultants, contractors and network service provider
- Detailed review of client supplied inputs and assessment of design gaps in order to meet the required scope of works
- Development of EMPT detailed models and corresponding results for AC related assets
- Collation of numerous transient studies within a detailed design report
- Validation of client equipment suitability for the proposed substation arrangement
